natural gasGreening Los Angeles
Howdy fellow green living enthusiasts! I'm here to help spread the word about CNG powered vehicles. Natural Gas is an excellent energy source that is 100% clean burning and very abundant here in America. Currently Honda is the only car manufacturer that has a CNG powered car available for purchase to the general public. I bought one in April and Love it! It feels so good to use my buying power to make a difference. There are plenty of CNG pumps throughout LA county and in SoCal.

Struggling With Sustainability - Air Emi
I just missed T. Boone Pickens
This time last week I was in Lincoln NE removing plants from their wrong locations (my professor friend cautioned I shouldn't call it weeding). Had I stayed on, I'd be in line this morning to hear T. Boone Pickens explain his plan at a town hall meeting at the Lancaster Events Center at 10:30. You've no doubt seen Mr. Pickens' tv ads promoting a national shift to wind power and natural gas. I'm trying to look at it as rationally as I can with all the information i can find. Right now, I'm a walking dichotomy.
T. Boone Pickens PlanT. Boone Pickens has mounted a well organized grass roots movement for change in the nation's energy infrastructure to wind power and natural gas. I'm open to the suggestion and I'm willing to get behind it, but first I want to know the downside. Two negatives that are immediately raised are 1) wind power causes danger to birds and wildlife due to the turbine propellers and the noise 2) Rights of neighborhing landowner's to quiet peaceful lifestyle their families have known for generations What are your thoughts?

Why Democrats Love the Pickens Plan
When anyone invests $300 million dollars into promoting alternative energy sources, the Democrats usually take notice. When that person is an oil tycoon, brother of a "Bush Pioneer", and someone who was a major contributor to the 2004 Swift Boat ads, that person gets an invitation from Nancy Pelosi to speak before the Why Aren't We Solar?
Why aren't we solar yet? It's a question that I want awnsered. The government, locally or federally, could pass laws requiring newer homes, and newly built homes to have solar panels (in areas where this would be efficient). So why haven't they done so? Here is a look at some reasons why: Cost Solar panels are expensive . . . for now. Isn't everything expensive when its new and only so many people are manufacturing it? Anheuser-Busch Cleans Up Fleet
Anheuser-Busch just received funding to clean up their act. The EPA gave the company a $150,000 grant to do so. They are working on getting trucks that contain multi-stage filters to trap and reduce emissions by 70-80 percent. The Hunts point Fleet is located in the Bronx, contains 75 trucks, 15 of which will contain the new filtration devices. The fleet will also fuel the trucks with bio-diesel. The company hopes to have 22 of these new trucks by 2009. They are also swapping out diesel engines with compressed natural gas engines.
