Granite countertops bad for your health?

Has any heard the reports about granite counter-tops being hazardous to your health?

Apparently, they emit varying amounts of radon depending on the type. Radon is known to cause lung cancer. It the articles I read it stated that you should get your counter-tops or house tested.
