Have you ever thought about what you eat in your efforts of going
green? Besides going organic we should avoid or at least limit the
amount of meat we consume. A friend of mine shared the following: (I
will post the link and content because I hate having to navigate away

So my wedding was eight months ago yesterday, and I have now seen the true extent of the wedding industrial complex. Despite our best intentions we did indeed spend lots of money and capitulate to numerous conventions that I didn't particularly plan to.We've tried to make our wedding reflect our values, and in some ways we succeeded, and in some ways we did not. » read more

In New Mexico's Espanola Valley farmers that have been using animal fertilizers for generations, switched their practices years ago as a way to farm their vegetable in the safest way possible. These "veganic" farmers are certified organic farmers and avoid the use of synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or genetically modified ingredients. During the course of 1 person's life, you eat about 100 animals! There are billions of people in this world, so imagine how many animals are being eaten every year. Every little thing you do to eat less meat really helps, so try going vegetarian for a day, the animals will appreciate it!

So right now I'm a semi-vegan living on campus at kent with no food plan and having to buy my own groceries on a meager wage (luckily all i have to buy is food and art supplies right now)....but it is getting more and more difficult to buy organic and natural foods on such a low budget. I have been eating whole wheat pasta and organic canned tomatoes as sauce, or some apple sauce, or home made bread...but i need more veggies! i wish winter would end so i could scourage for food or something...or at least be able to rely on the little farmer's market that comes around. » read more
