How To Make a Clock Using a Record

Tools and Materials Needed

  • 1 record
  • 1 wall clock
  • Duct tape or hot glue
  • Metallic pen (optional)

Instructions on How To Make a Clock Using a Record:

  • Pop the cover off of the clock.
  • Remove the second, minute and hour hands.
  • Remove the mechanism from the back of the clock.
  • Insert it through the hole of the record.
  • Attach the mechanism to the record with either hot glue or duct tape.
  • Re-attach the second, minute and hour hands.
  • You can then add the numbers to the clock with your metallic pen or get creative and decorate the face of the clock.
  • My clock mechanism didn't have a way for it to be hung, so I had to lean it up against a wall.
  • You can take this project a step further and make a Salvador Dali melting clock.
