Cleaner Water Not A Pipe DreamLast week the house passed The Water Quality Investment Act of 2009. This legislation is designed to improve the quality of water in the U.S. by improving the wastewater infrastructure and water quality. The bill authorizes $13.8 billion over the next five years in the form of state grants to construct new waterways and treatment facilities, as well as clean up polluted lakes and rivers and create new jobs. Hooray! But the bill still hs to pass the Senate and be signed into law by President Obama. This might be a good time to contact your state senator and let your voice be heard.
