1% for the Planet: The Music Helping rockstars save the planet, one song at a time.

The Music Helping rockstars save the planet, one song at a time.

Care about the earth? Love music? Here’s a chance to use music to help the Earth! 1% for the Planet: The Music is a one-of-a kind compilation. Over forty artists donated their rare and exclusive tracks for this, the first music album dedicated solely to supporting supporting non-profit organizations working to create a healthy planet.

Jack Johnson, G. Love, Jackson Browne, and 38 other artists have joined together to create this album, with all proceeds going to over 1800 environmental non-profits around the world. The 41 tracks on 1% for the Planet: The Music are available to download for under $10, and because it’s a digital album, there’s no extra environmental footprint for printing or distributing a physical disc.

According to 1% for the Planet, this album is an environmental first for the music industry, and they’re calling this one Volume 1, so chances are, the musical fundraising effort will be an ongoing campaign. You’ve got to love the ads for the campaign:

Download your copy direct from the album’s site or from iTunes or Amazon. If you’re a blogger or website owner grab a 1% for the Planet badge to show your support and help raise awareness for this effort. The badge can also be uploaded to your Facebook page or virtually any other digital profile.

1% for the Planet is a rapidly growing global movement of over 1,100 companies that have pledged to donate 1% of their sales to environmental organizations. Each day at least one new business joins the network, and this album is the first time that the general public is able to support the organization’s work.
