We want to reward you for your actions. That's why we created Greenopolis Rewards. You can earn points by recycling in our Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks, blogging and commenting on Greenopolis and by recycling at home in selected cities. These points can then be traded in on coupons for meals, entertainment, discounts and more.
Our Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks are a big part of our commitment to conservation, recycling and tracking waste to resources. This Tracker shows the number of bottles, cans and other waste these machines have collected so far. Check our Kiosk Locator on our home page for a Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks near you.
Chicago School Is Getting A Recycle Rally Green Makeover
Schools that participate earn points redeemable for rewards like school supplies, sporting equipment, gift cards and electronics.
St. PascalSchool in Chicago won PepsiCo’s Dream Machine Recycle Rally Dream Green School Makeover contest, a $100,000 prize that it will use to make green improvements at the school including a new energy efficient computer lab powered by solar energy. The school recycled an average of approximately 2,286 beverage containers per student, and ecycler attended the award ceremony at Chicago’s Portage Theater. The feeling of electricity was definitely in the air!
Ecycler went to show support of the rally’s mission of raising awareness among students about the importance of recycling. Stephen Paea of the Chicago Bears even made an appearance and talked about the importance of team work. Other speakers were:
Fr. Paul Seaman, St. Pascal School
Anna Palazij, PepsiCo Program Representative
Paul Ligon, Managing Director, Waste Management/Greenopolis
Schools that participate earn points for every non-alcoholic aluminum can or plastic bottle they collect, and can then redeem the points for rewards like school supplies, sporting equipment, gift cards and electronics.
When schools are accepted into the Dream Machine Recycle Rally program, the school receives a scanner and laptop to tally the can and bottle collections and manage the point redemptions. More than 500 schools in 32 states are registered in the Dream Machine Recycle Rally program with approximately 4.5 million containers collected or nearly 235,000 pounds to-date.
