Boxer Briefs Made from Recycled Circuit Boards

Move over Hanes, There’s a New Underwear Sheriff in Town!

Do not attempt to adjust your computer screen. What you’re seeing is absolutely real. No, it’s not a chastity belt like the one Maid Marian wore in Robin Hood: Men in Tights. This is a real pair of boxer briefs made from recycled circuit boards, rubber, fishing line and sterling silver. It also features cotton spandex, for a little added comfort.

Designed by San Francisco-based artist Emiko Oye, this recycled circuit board boxer brief certainly adheres to its name: Population Control 2.0. It’s one of many “wearable treasures” from the Jewelry Cycle showcase, whose tag line is “Artists Discover Hidden Sparkle in the Discarded.” Everything in the Jewelry Cycle collection is made from discarded computer parts, metal and other e-waste.

So, what do you think? Is this a wearable treasure, or is it just another piece of “trashy” underwear?
