We want to reward you for your actions. That's why we created Greenopolis Rewards. You can earn points by recycling in our Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks, blogging and commenting on Greenopolis and by recycling at home in selected cities. These points can then be traded in on coupons for meals, entertainment, discounts and more.
Our Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks are a big part of our commitment to conservation, recycling and tracking waste to resources. This Tracker shows the number of bottles, cans and other waste these machines have collected so far. Check our Kiosk Locator on our home page for a Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks near you.
If you’re a fan of hip hop music, and you’re an avid supporter of protecting the environment, then you’ve got to watch this music video from black American rapper Kool Keith. This video combines passionate lyrics with amazing CG animation to speak the truth about the devastating plight of trees, one of the world’s most valuable resources. Kook Keith raps the song under the name of Dr. Octagon, a fictional character (and extraterrestrial) that he created in 1996.
The video was directed by Georgie Greville, who owns Legs, a full-service creative and production studio located in New York City. He created the eco-friendly video for MTV’s THINK campaign, an online community where people and celebrities inspire each other to make the world a better place.
My favorite lyrics are: “Watch your atmosphere and pesticides / Control damaging trees and roots / A bunch of chemicals y’all turnin’ it loose.”
I love to see the hip hop scene go green! An appreciation for music is one thing that we all have in common, so if we can combine this with our love of the planet, then we can definitely be a united world.
