Kentucky couple Jay and Janet O’Rourke add a little TLC and a lot of creativity to their custom-designed wooden trinkets!

There’s something about hardwood that makes it one of the most aesthetically pleasing sights to look at in any home. Although it’s usually seen on your floor (sometimes with a few too many pet scratch marks on it), hardwood can also be used to make furniture, utensils, jewelry and containers. Jay O Boxes (the “Jay” is obviously taken from the first few letters of Jay and Janet’s name), are beautiful hardwood “treasure boxes” that have been meticulously cut, polished and pieced together. The Kentucky-based couple has been creating these wooden containers for over 40 years, and let me tell you, they’ve definitely mastered the art of woodworking. In fact, their work is so good that it has been featured in art galleries and museums throughout the world!
