Largest Swiss Supermarket Chain to Sell THINK City Electric Cars

Migros, Switzerland’s largest supermarket retailer, makes a deal to sell THINK City battery-powered vehicles in over 600 of its stores!

Could you imagine running into Costco or Sam’s Club, two of the largest retail warehouses in the U.S., to pick up some groceries, clothing, lawn furniture and…an electric car?   Well that’s exactly what the shoppers in Switzerland get to do!  Migros, the largest supermarket chain in Switzerland, recently announced that it has made a deal with Norwegian THINK City electric cars to sell them in over 600 stores across the country.  The battery-powered cars are part of the store’s new division called M-Way, which will be a new platform for selling the cars.

So, why should Migros sell THINK City cars inside its stores?  First of all, these cars are some of the most environmentally-sound vehicles on the road.  They produce zero local emissions and have three times the energy efficiency of a traditional car.  Secondly, almost everything on the inside of the car, including the dashboard, air ducts, seat fabric and adhesives, are all made of recycled materials!  Now doesn’t the Think City sound like something that you’d want to look at while you’re shopping for dinner?

These mini-sized electric vehicles are also great to look at.  Here are a few pictures:

Supermarkets nowadays sell just about everything, so why shouldn’t an electric vehicle be on the list?  I think this is a great idea, and if this new endeavor proves to be successful in Switzerland, I wouldn’t mind seeing a few THINK City cars the next time I need milk!
