Old Vespa Scooter Recycled into a Retro Rocking Chair
One Italian grandpa turns his old Vespa scooter into his grandson’s ultimate rocker As children, most of us had a favorite chair that we loved to sit on. It was probably made of wood, rocked back and forth and was shaped like a horse with handles in its head. Luckily for little Diego, his grandpa built him the ultimate rocking chair…and it looks way cooler than a horse. This hip invention was crafted by Diego’s grandfather, who recycled his old baby blue Vespa into a retro piece of moving art. The vintage Italian Vespa sits upon a metal platform with wood trimmed edges, and its restored fiberglass body looks brand new. To top it off, the seat has been newly recovered with imitation leather! The smile on Diego’s face says it all: Recycling an old scooter into a hip rocking chair is just one way to get creative and conscious about the environment. I think that Diego’s grandpa deserves to be #1 grandpa of the year, but since it’s still early in 2010, let’s see who else might come up with another awesome idea like this. Ciao for now!

Great mileage, too
Now if grandpa could rig this rocker up to a power generator, he could get Diego earning his keep!

A great reuse project. But I'd think about capturing that energy here....
So cute.
Any kid would love this. Â My nephew's B-day is coming up. Â I keep thinking how darling he'd look on one.
