Pannell Swim Shop in Kentucky Turns Old Swimsuits into Green Energy

Go green with your old swimsuit by donating it to Pannell Swim Shop’s “Save the Suit! Save the Planet!” Campaign!

There’s a pretty cool swim shop located in Lexington, Kentucky that’s doing a pretty cool thing: the shop is taking old swimsuit donations and recycling the swimsuits into green energy! Oh yes, it’s true.

Pannell Swim Shop, which has been around for over 20 years, has created a recycling contest to see which individual or team can donate the most swimsuits. It’s called the “Save the Suit! Save the Planet!” campaign, and it’s definitely worth checking out. The shop is working together with a Kentucky-based green energy company who will then turn the swimsuits into emission-free electricity! Now isn’t that cool?

The obvious reason that you should join the contest is to recycle your old suit and keep it from ending up in a landfill. But of course there’s another incentive, which is winning a $500 shopping spree at Pannell Swim Shop!

Want to learn more about the contest? Here’s a video about it!

If you’re interested in donating your old swimsuit and you don’t live in Kentucky, you can mail your old suits to:
