Spider-Boy Climbs Walls with Recycled Vacuum Device

13-year-old Hibiki Kono from the UK has built a clever device that allows him to scale walls like his idol Spider-Man!

What started out as a DIY experiment for school has turned one 13-year-old UK boy into the reincarnation of his favorite superhero: Spider-Man. It took 5 months and a few prototypes for Hibiki Kono to build the ultimate wall-climbing device.  Inspired by the BBC science show “Bang Goes the Theory,” he designed a pack that features two 1400-watt recycled Tesco Value vacuum cleaners and a series of wooden suction cups.  After strapping himself in and putting on his helmet, Hibiki can literally scale walls, just like Spidey!

Hard to believe? Just watch this video.

Hibiki proudly demonstrated his device during a school assembly, where he said that it could be useful for window washers.  So, what do you think?  Is this kid a real-life Spider-Boy, a clever genius, or both?
