Top 5 Feel-Good Reasons to Go Green for Earth DayFind out how going green can save the planet and boost your personal happiness Here are 5 great reasons why going green on Earth Day, and every day, will make you feel good! Photo from blog.aarp.org 1. You’ll look cool while shopping When you tote around a reusable bag while shopping you’ll feel good about reducing paper and plastic waste, but you’ll also add some sustainable style to your shopping experience. When you can both look and feel good about what you’re doing, then you are truly at peace with your environment. 2. Home value will increase Green homes mean less harm to the environment and less money spent on bills! More people are starting to realize this about the “eco-friendly home market,” so if you happen to have solar panels or water-saving appliances in your home, you’ll most likely get your money back, and more, when you try to sell it in the future. Doesn’t that make you feel good? 3. You’ll lose weight and feel great Part of living a green lifestyle means enjoying a healthy and balanced diet. The less processed junk food and more organic natural foods that you eat, the healthier you’ll be. The healthier you are, the happier you’ll be! 4. You’ll be a role model to kids Every time that you recycle, pick up a piece of trash, reduce your water consumption or ride a bike, you’re setting an example for a younger generation. It’s nice to know that kids are looking up to you, but it’s even nicer when they pass what you’ve taught them to their family and friends. 5. You’ll spend less money All of those Energy Star appliances and solar panels in your home drastically reduce your monthly energy bill. Packing your lunch in a reusable bag instead of going out to eat saves you a few bucks each week. Bringing water in your own container instead of buying bottled water greatly reduces your grocery bill. Riding your bike to work instead of driving your car saves you gas money. I could go on, but you get the point. Basically, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t feel good about saving a few bucks.! There are so many other reasons why going green can make you feel good. If you have any more, please feel free to share them! Share

We all know that Earth Day is April 22, but we should celebrate Earth Day as if it is every day. Why? Because we care about the planet that we live on and we want to see it here for future generations. But also because when we celebrate the Earth and make a conscious effort to keep it clean and beautiful, we also feel good about ourselves. And being happy is definitely an added bonus to living a green lifestyle.
