We want to reward you for your actions. That's why we created Greenopolis Rewards. You can earn points by recycling in our Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks, blogging and commenting on Greenopolis and by recycling at home in selected cities. These points can then be traded in on coupons for meals, entertainment, discounts and more.
Our Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks are a big part of our commitment to conservation, recycling and tracking waste to resources. This Tracker shows the number of bottles, cans and other waste these machines have collected so far. Check our Kiosk Locator on our home page for a Greenopolis Recycling Kiosks near you.
Rain is a renewable resource. Oceans and waterways evaporate, vapor cools and forms clouds, winds blow them over your house, and it comes down comes a fierce torrent or a gentle drizzle. We capture wind and sunlight, why not rain? We showed you how to make your own rain barrels, but artists in Chicago are turning rain barrels into art as part of Recycle the Raindrops program. Instead of letting all that great rainwater clean the streets of Chicago and carry who-knows- what into the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, capturing and using the rain on its journey to the sea saves water and prevents pollution.
Here are rain barrel basics:
Recycling rain with rain barrels is a way you can help relieve the stress on waste treatment facilities, help reduce water consumption, and help control flooding. As our population swells, conserving water becomes ever more important. Over 40% of purified household water in the USA goes to lawns and gardening. Rain barrels offer a greener way to keep things green.
Recycle the Raindrops was part of events through Chicago all this year, from conferences to art fairs. Here are some of our favorite artistic designs from the program. This is poetry in motion, or is it artistry in ocean?!
So to answer Credence Clearwater Revival’s age old question “Who’ll Stop the Rain?” or at least slow it down on its journey, let the answer be: You and Me!
