Recycled Metal Art with Attitude!

Sugar Post knows what to do with metal. They take propane tanks, gears, drive shafts- any kind of metal scrap- and transform it into one of a kind works of art.

Fred Conlon is the creative genius behind Sugar Post. You have to wonder about his upbringing when you see some of his creations, or what was in the drinking water in his hometown of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. But he’s channeling that outrageous creativity in a good direction, and reusing lots of scrap in the process.

Fred opened Sugar Post in 1998 as a pottery studio. But metal beckoned. He created a turtle from an old army helmet in 1999 and never looked back.

His Gnome Be Gones are designed to destroy those cute garden gnomes that pop up everywhere like mushrooms on a spring lawn, and his other creations reveal a soul that is truly creative, and delightfully demented.  I’m going to stop here, and let some of my favorites speak for themselves. A picture says a thousand words and all that. Enjoy!
