Recycled Reindeer Poop Jewelry, Haven’t I Seen that Necklace Somewhere Before?

You’ve seen Dancer and Prancer and Dasher and Vixen…even Rudy the Reuse Reindeer for our holiday blogs. But have you seen the high fashion jewelry and ornaments made from their droppings?

1

We’ve done pieces on elephant poo paper, power from cow manure, and composting dog doo-doo for gardens. Dung just lends itself so well to reuse, as fertilizer at the Diemand Turkey Farm, and fuel in many homes and kitchens worldwide. Well, The Beading Gem has elevated the lowly turd to regal trinket status.

These little, eh….gems are dehydrated and sterilized, and then spray painted with glitter.

This necklace pendant has been made with one dung pellet (bottom) and other beads. It looks like a snowman! Hey Frosty!

This ornament showcases a red dropping between two glass beads.

With the name of “Magical Reindeer Gems” these lovely pieces of, eh, jewelry can be found at the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington Illinois. And you thought Illinois was only famous for Abe Lincoln and Barack Obama! Now it’s the “Land of Reindeer Poop Necklaces”!

If you are looking for larger karat dung, try this moose poop necklace we found on TrendHunter Magazine, part of a series of “pooptastic” jewelry form Glenn and Heidi Reed.

Imagine the look on their face when you tell them what it’s made from!

This could be a whole new trend in fashion and save many relationships. I can see the comments now in the bedroom. Him:

“Honey, those earrings look like sh-t!” Her: “Oh thank you dear, you noticed!”

Poop just keeps going around and around again, turning up everywhere from the soles of shoes to the jewelry case, and I’m sure you’ll see this theme on Greenopolis again. Watch this space.
