Every good BBQ cook needs three essentials... A good grill, an apron that expresses his (or her) personality and some good grilling tools.
Here are some suggestions for greener BBQ essentials this year. Enjoy!
Basic #1 - A Good Grill. How about the Big Green Egg? This is the neatest thing you’ve ever seen. It’s a unique ceramic cooker, both a grill and a smoker in one, that’s derived from an ancient clay cooker called a "kamado." The surface stays cool when in use, it won’t rust and it can withstand even the coldest winter temps. It’s fuel-efficient, so you don’t have to add charcoal when cooking for long periods and unburned charcoal can be reused. My Dad swears by this grill. And he makes a mean slab of ribs.
Basic #2 - An Apron. Well, finally, the eco-minded apron is here! Rawganique’s unique aprons are made of 100% organic linen, cotton and hemp and come in 3 chic styles and several cool colors. My personal favorite is the G5000 full-length chef style in Earth Brown. It has full coverage and pockets on the front for utensils. Prices start at $24.00.
Basic #3 - Good Grilling Tools. Look no further. The Folding Grill Tools are made from heavy-duty stainless with eco-friendly pakkawood handles. They collapse for compact storage and easy carrying. Hand wash. Choose from the grill brush, spatula or tongs. Prices range from about $20 to $25 available at Surlatable.com.
Happy Grilling!
