In the Netherlands, Elsie The Cow is working hard to provide power to the people.

The Netherlands is the latest nation to tackle the newest trend in green energy solutions. They have recently opened a power plant that uses cow poop to generate electricity.
The cow poop is collected from local dairy farms and fermented along with other locally collected compostables like grass and food scraps. The biogas created from the converted poop should be able to provide power to about 1,100 homes in the northern town of Leeuwarden.
The new biogas plant's operator, Essent, says the materials used for the project are collected, processed and used as fuel for the town’s thermal plant gas turbines. In a released statement, Essent said it is possible that another biogas plant will also come online as soon as January of next year.
