From Yuck and Ick To Oohhh, Can I Have That

Union Eighteen turns ugly synthetic carpeting into unique one-of-a-kind rugs for your home.

It’s a simple idea. Used reclaimed manufacturing waste - synthetic carpet - into beautiful rugs that everyone wants. Union Eighteen is doing just that.

Founded by Todd and Meg Kruik, the Long Beach, California company is dedicated to the creation of sustainable art and interior products made from recycled and reused material.

The company’s idea of “rooting out, discovering and liberating castoff” carpet remnants and grouping them in new ways seems to be catching on. Their rugs have been featured in magazines such as Natural Home, LA Times Magazine and I.D. Magazine

It’s an artistic process, not a manufacturing one. A process that depends on “seeing” the potential in someone else’s trash. In  “finding” colors and textures, not creating them.

All I know is, I want one.
