Remember being in college and not having enough money to buy a decent chair for your dorm room? Or being lucky enough to take your parents’ television set to your off-campus apartment…only to find that you have nothing to put it on? I definitely remember those starving student college days. All I wanted was to purchase good-looking, affordable furniture that wouldn’t cut into my ramen noodle fund.
Even though my college days are long gone, current college students and recent graduates have the opportunity to buy amazingly affordable furniture at the FAS Concepts website. FAS stands for Functional, Affordable and Sustainable, and that’s exactly what the furniture is. The furniture is highly durable, easy to clean and is resistant to liquid. But the best part is that the furniture is made from recycled cardboard!
From coffee tables and entertainment centers to corn hole games and party tables, FAS Concepts supplies college students with the furniture that they need at the price that they can afford.
The idea for the company started when Kyle Hawkins and Brad Moritz, two friends from DePauw University, decided to design and create their own line of sustainable furniture. They wanted something that would last throughout the crazy college years, but could then be recycled once it had run its course. With the help of a few friends and the desire to make a quality product, Kyle and Brad created the FAS Concepts line of products.
One very cool aspect of the website is that it has videos on it that show you how to assemble your eco-friendly furniture. Check this out:
As you can see, FAS Concepts has the type of furniture that college students need to reduce their credit card bill, as well as their carbon footprint. It’s a win-win situation…unless they’re battling it out over a game of corn hole!
