It’s a Bird…It’s a Plane…It’s a Recycled Comic Book!
The Green Groove by Trish Smith
Trish Smith reveals how your favorite comics could be recycled into unique products. From wallets to envelopes, these comic book products make a serious impact.Superman. Spider–Man. The X–Men. Batman. What do all of these characters have in common, besides being the inspiration for some of Hollywood's hugest blockbuster movies? They all originated from comic books…you know, those things that kids used to read before video games and the internet were invented. Comic books are classic American products that were introduced in 1934, and they are still around today in both independent comic shops and corporate bigwigs like Barnes and Nobles. Although graphic novels and Japanese manga books are becoming more popular than traditional comics, it's always great to see someone reading a classic copy of Superman. But what if someone was wearing a copy of it? Yes, I did say wearing, because if a comic doesn't get traded or sold to a fanatic, it's usually thrown into the trash. So if these comics could be recycled into cool products that people could reuse, then the legend of The Hulk and Thor could live on forever! Luckily for you comic fans I came across these cool recycled comic book products (click on the pictures for more details): Recycled Multi-Strand Comic Book Necklace ($30.00)
Recycled Comic Large Bead Bracelet ($13.75)
Recycled Comic Book Envelopes ($5.00)
Recycled PEANUTS Comic Clutch Purse Wristlet ($10.00)
If you didn't already know, Disney just bought Marvel Entertainment, one of the leading comic book companies, for $4 billion, so that means comics are only to get hotter in the years to come. I suggest that you purchase one of these recycled comic book products because you may not be a super-hero, but you will be super cool if you do! Share
