What is Free'N Exchange?
Free'N Exchange is the ultimate in recycling! It provides a forum for Greenopolis members to take items that they no longer want or need and make them available for free to the rest of Greenopolis. That way, your stuff ends up in the hands of a happy new owner rather than in a landfill. You might also find something that you've been looking for, and get it for free. You can even post a Request if no one has posted what you're looking for yet.
How does the map work?
The Free'N Exchange map provides an easy way to see what has been listed in your area. Offers appear as blue pins, and Requests appear as purple pins. If you click on a pin, a bubble will appear to tell you the name of the item, when it was posted and provide a link to the item description page.
How do I add an offer to Free'N Exchange?
Posting an offer on Free'N Exchange is quick and easy. Just click “Add My Offer” in the navigation bar, and then fill out a short form about the item, including a title, category, description and your location. You must also rate its condition as Excellent, Good, Fair or Poor. You have the option of uploading a picture of your item. Click Submit to add your listing or Preview to view your listing before you finalize it.
How do I add a request to Free'N Exchange?
To post a request on Free'N Exchange, simply click “Add My Request” in the navigation bar, and then fill out a short form about the item you are looking for, selecting one or more conditions that would be acceptable to you (you can select more than one condition by holding down the Ctrl key). Click Submit to add your listing or Preview to view your listing before you finalize it.
What is the Watch List?
If you are interested in an item, but not quite ready to claim it, you can click Watch This Item on the item description page. It will then be added to your Watch List, which you can view on the My Items page, along with items you have listed and items you have claimed. You can see how many people are watching an item at the top of the item description page.
I found an item I want. How do I claim it?
If you find an item available that you want, simply click “Claim This Item,” and you will be asked to send the user a private message including your contact information. If you claimed the item by accident, or if you no longer want it, you can remove your claim by clicking “Cancel Claim On This Item” on the item description page.
I have an item someone else wants. How do I give it to them?
If you have an item that another Greenopolis member wants, and you're willing to part with it, simply click “Donate This Item,” and you will be asked to send the user a private message including your contact information. If you offered the item by accident, or if it is no longer available, you can remove your offer by clicking “Cancel Donation Of This Item” on the item description page.
Can I earn points by using Free'N?
Absolutely! Any time you add a listing, claim an item or donate one, you will earn Green Points towards Rewards and your next Green Badge!
