Highlights / Key
Facts:- Cisco, along with its customers and partners, is
demonstrating how networking technology can transform how the world
manages its environmental concerns. Information technology, while a
contributor of greenhouse gas emissions, has a larger role to play in
mitigating the impact of other sectors as well as helping people and
organizations reduce their environmental footprint.
- Cisco's environmental programs focus on innovations to network
architecture, environmentally-conscious product design and supply chains,
and sustainable company operations. As a company, Cisco aims to reduce
its absolute greenhouse gas emissions 25 percent by calendar year 2012
based on its calendar year 2007 baseline emissions.
- Sustainable practices are good business practices. Cisco TelePresence
has more than 100 customers globally helping to reduce air travel and GHG
emissions. By reducing carbon emissions, waste production, and natural
resource demand in FY09, Cisco's Global Supply Chain Management realized
more than $3 million in annual cost savings through manufacturing
efficiency.
- Cisco's investment model in society focuses on education as a catalyst
for social progress. Using public-private partnerships, Cisco has succeeded
in bringing innovative ideas and practical expertise together to address
global challenges.
- Through corporate governance, accountability and responsibility,
responsible management and CSR governance, business resiliency and
responsible risk management, supplier diversity, stakeholder engagement,
and reporting frameworks, Cisco seeks to build trust in its company,
innovation in its business and benefits to the global community.
- How and where people work have changed. And as the working world
continues to evolve, so do the needs and aspirations of the global
workforce. Cisco seeks new ways to cultivate inclusiveness, develop
leadership abilities, nurture career growth and engage its employees in
its strategies and objectives.
