(CSRwire) NEWPORT BEACH,CA, - June 30, 2008 - Hornblower Cruises and Events announced today that it is offsetting its carbon emissions with Carbonfund.org, one of the country's leading carbon offset organizations. Hornblower has offset its three offices in Los Angeles and Orange County and will offer guests the opportunity to offset their cruises. This commitment further establishes Hornblower as an environmental leader in the hospitality and charter yacht community and demonstrates the proactive steps Hornblower is taking to reduce their carbon footprint.

Hornblower's corporate environmental outreach program, Respect Our Planet, guides the company's principles and programs. Respect Our Planet was developed in 2006 to align with the internationally recognized environmental standard ISO 14001. Through Respect Our Planet, Hornblower is committed to: conducting its operations in the most environmentally friendly methods possible, educating along with motivating its guests to make positive changes in their lives, and creating outreach and education around the preservation of the habitats in the communities it serves.

"Hornblower is dedicated to giving our cruisegoers a fun day or night on the water, and part of that means taking care of all their needs," said Cassidy Eastwood, Facilities Manager of Hornblower, Greater LA/Orange County. "Whether they realize it or not—and increasingly, they do—one of their needs is for sustainable eco-friendly travel, and that's why partnering with Carbonfund.org is such a great decision for us."

"Hornblower is already an environmental leader in the cruise industry with its innovative Respect Our Planet program, and by joining the CarbonFree Partnerships Program, they solidify their reputation," said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. "We're excited to welcome them aboard."

For over 28 years, Hornblower Cruises & Events has been the premier yacht charter company in Southern California.
