Studentawards Inc. partners with 3M National Teaching Fellowship and The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
(CSRwire) TORONTO,CANADA. - November 17, 2008 - Studentawards Inc. is
delighted to announce its partnership with the 3M National Teaching
Fellowship and the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
(STLHE). This alliance links three groups committed to supporting student
success and improving teaching and learning and will enable the 3M Fellows
to provide students with advice and guidance.
"This collaboration will offer real benefits to Canadian high school and
post-secondary students," says Suzanne Tyson, President of Studentawards
Inc.
"Together, we will develop initiatives to broaden awareness of this
extraordinary group of 228 award-winning professors, allowing them to
interact with the hundreds of thousands of Studentawards members,
educators and parents."
"The 3M National Teaching Fellowship is the only national award which
recognizes teaching excellence and leadership in Canadian universities,"
says Lesley Gouldie, CEO of Studentawards.com. "For 10 years Studentawards
has been helping students find money for school. Now, we will be able to
connect them with a group of professors who can help them succeed before,
during and after their university experience."
"This new partnership with Studentawards.com helps the 3M Teaching Fellows
take their years of teaching expertise and give back to students
nationally," says Arshad Ahmad, 3M National Teaching Fellow (1992) and 3M
Program Coordinator. "Studentawards will provide opportunities for the
Fellows to share their award-winning practices outside of their home
campuses, right across Canada."
About the 3M National Teaching Fellowships
In 1986, 3M Canada and The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher
Education (STLHE) established the Fellowship, the only national award
program of its kind in Canada.
Each year, between 50 and 60 nominees undergo a rigorous selection
process. To celebrate each year's 10 recipients, 3M Canada hosts a
four-day retreat at Le Chateau Montebello in Quebec. Intense exchanges and
lifelong collaborations are forged, often resulting in transformative calls
for action to help improve student learning.
Today, the 3M National Teaching Fellowship represents every discipline in
university teaching, from large and small institutions in every province.
An elected 3M Council Executive represents the fellowship and channels
their initiatives, coordinating their projects with 3M Canada and STLHE.

About Studentawards.com
Studentawards.com helps college and university students find the money
they need to fully dedicate themselves to their studies. Despite the fact
that there are many scholarships, grants and bursaries available in
Canada, most college and university students graduate with tens of
thousands of dollars of debt, which will take years to repay.
Studentawards.com is not satisfied with this situation, which is why, for
more than 10 years, we have been connecting students with great
opportunities to find money for school; many are hard-to-find,
non-institutional awards.
Over 1.5 million students have joined as members at www.studentawards.com to get
matched with the awards we've gathered and organized, as well as awards
we've created. Students can find money to pay for their books - $1,000 -
or their entire education - $60,000.
Studentawards.com's service is easy to use, it is fast and, best of all,
it is free.
