Wetsuits Made from Recycled Polyester Take to the Waves
Australian surfwear maker Billabong has gone to market with an eco-friendly wetsuit fashioned from 90 percent recycled polyester that takes 80 percent less energy to manufacture.
The wetsuit called the Platinum B9 (pronounced "benign") is made from used soda bottles and other material that can be converted into polyester fiber for raw material for the suits. The other 10 percent is made out of Spandex.
The suit retails for just under $650 to almost $700. See the company's video about it Platinum B9 below.
The firm also says its efforts to use green materials result in 80 percent less CO2 emissions.
