Join me in protesting off shore drilling and pushing for investment in local renewable resources!!!

Dear Mr. President, Oil is a non renewable resource; if we have reached peak oil production, then our population growth will far exceed supply--if not tomorrow, very soon. Oil funds terrorists-by getting off oil, we will deflate Iran, Venezuela, and Al Qaeda.
Dropping the speed limit to 55 would save over 61 million
barrels a year, 30
times what allowing offshore drilling would bring (Energy Secretary
Bodman). Which
scenario helps the american taxpayer and which helps lobbyists and
oilmen? Offshore estimates of energy production are only 2 million
barrels of oil, *at some point* in the next decade. Which is the better
move to keep American running? Local renewable energy can renew our economy—there are 166 renewable energy generators in NC. Chevron and GM have bought into renewable energy, its time for the government to wise up. Oil is a dying industry, using its least throes to squeeze another dime out of America. The time to fix the roof is while the sun is still shining—that rainy day is threatening. »
