I realize some tap water is less than desireable.  BUT! Tap water (from municiple sources) is requiured to be tested frequently for microbes, has flouride, and most city water providers are so paranoid that they have the best prduct in town.

If you just can't stand the chlorine taste (which protects from some gnarly microbes and bottled water companies don't care if you get microbes), simply install a charcoal filter on your home, as it takes the chlorine taste right out.  In fact, I suggest you install two or more (if chlorine isn't your only concern).  I did so a few years back and have had great results.

If you just love bottled water for the convenience.  Wash soda or other bottled water vessels and reuse them!  20 oz. and 2 liter bottle will last indefinately if left out of sunlight.  Reusing these bottles not only save landfill space, and keeps you from paying more for water you could get at home for pennies, but also reduces carbon emmisions and oil consumption (oil is used to manufacture plastice soda bottles).

Another plus.  2 Liter bottles can be saved and used during hurricanes for potable water.  Also, freeze several in your deep freezer to preserve frozen foods longer in a power outage.

me

I use a Brita water filter, and that works great. I live by myself, so I don't use a lot of water, so the water pitcher is enough for me.

Good Stuff

Just keep swimming!

I agree! I live in a small town in NH and we have well water no town water offered - i installed a filter on my kitchen sink and it works GREAT! I now fill up a gallon jug over and over again to get that great cold water at my house. I will also fill up smaller bottles to take on the road with me. Every little bit helps!
