Lawns to the Gallon

I have a service station in my view shed so I see who comes in and out and who needs gasoline the most. And each and every morning in the warmer months I see lines of folks filling up commerical lawnmowers. This is a shame on so many different levels. First we look at it from an air pollution point of view and we have burn a lot of gas and create a lot of CO2 to get our lawns trimmed. Noise pollution too is a problem. And what about issues of food security, water use, good old exercise associated with vegetable gardening, carbon sequestration, and wildlife habitat. So think about what might be better than lawn and go for it. »
