Animal adoption vital in California

I just saw an article (see it
here
) from California about the
importance of the adoption of animals. Recently the mortgage crisis has forced
a lot of people out of their homes, and had to give up their pets to the animal
rescue agencies. I have lived in LA, and even without this new crisis there
were always tons of dogs that needed adoption.

I adopted a cute Italian Greyhound from the California Branch of
the Italian Greyhound club and I
couldn't be happier with our little guy. Our dog, Digby, was about 6 when we got
him and came from a puppy mill in the Oakland
area where he was left in a field to fend for himself, malnourished and
mistreated. Needless to say, now he's living the good life, and a happy part of
our family. We got another IG (Lilly, 1 yo) when we moved to New Hampshire
and now our family is really getting big!

The point of this blog post is just to get the notion of adopting animals,
because not only will you most likely be saving an animal's life, but you will
also be improving your own quality of life.

I hope that this California
crisis gets some relief, either from increased adoption rates, or even
legislature that allows all renters to have pets.
