Are you concerned with climate change?
Submitted by david d on Mon, 02/11/2008 - 9:57am.
I am one of those people that is concerned with climate change; specifically, how these effects will affect my everyday life. I am also interested news stories, environmental changes and even local and federal governmental action to combat these changes. Today when I was listening to the radio I heard that NPR.org has a whole section that it populates with nothing but climate change news. The non profit National Public Radio has teamed up with National Geographic to create this excellent hub where you can learn about everything from the decreasing amount of sea ice, to what you can do everyday to help avoid dangers from climate change. I found this resource very useful; I hope you do as well:

Great post - not too much bias
Thanks for the info! - Great link!
...and while I personally feel as though NPR does show evidence of bias at times, at least the bias consistently trends toward the precautionary side, which I think is wise in all cases.
Cheers!

I guess my post was a little over-enthusiastic about NPR, wasn’t it?
What I was trying to get at is this: of all news media out there these days, NPR is by far one of the more reputable in means of content vs. spin. They do impart some bias, as do all media sources, but I think by and large they are more interested in reporting facts, and less focused on boosting their ratings.
...
NPR is the only group that can report honest, unbiased data. They have no need to create spin in an effort to boost their ratings. Go NPR!

Dear little girl,
I disproved you once. Please don't make me doit again. Check the reply I sent you on one of your blogs. Where I showed you when the warmest winters and the coolest summers were. The documentary is not completely truthful. I've done the research it is POINT sIx degrees, not six, every hundred years or so.

You will notice that there are a few people who seem to have nothing better to do than scan for threads related to human-caused global warming. They seem to think that if they come in and used a lot of exclamation points, they will somehow dissuade people’s views on global warming. Arguing with them if futile; they have the incessant need to get the last word in. In a perfect world, we would all be happy to accept that there will always be different points of view, and come to an understanding that the “why” will never be as important as the “what”, as in, “what are we doing to protect our environment?” But, these people don’t seem to get this.
I think our best course of action is to ignore their anger-stricken words, and do our best to support a caring community, where we stress education and understanding.

Your welcome

I've said this a million
I've said this a million times! We in no way should worry! This has happened before and it will happen again. The hole in the ozone layer is fixing itself, the temperature is only incresasing a single degree every 195 years or so, and the sea ice isn't decreasing as much as anyone makes it seem. I wish I still had a link to a site I read about a year ago so people like you could know the REAL truth. DOOM AND GLOOM!!!!!!! RUN FOR COVER!!!!

Educate Yourself...
So you're saying we shouldn't care, and educate ourselves about climate change and environmental effects? That's not very smart is it? Should the people of New Orleans just ignored Katrina? Should the people living on islands not measure the sea level?
The thing a lot of people can't understand is this:
It doesn't matter what causes climate change, it is a real thing that we all will have to live with, regardless of what causes it.
The right question!
I think you're dead on, here... in most cases, it seems that arguing over the causes of climate change only masks the deeper, more serious question:
What can we do (if anything!) to maintain and protect our current global agricultural zones?
Cheers!
