Bush's Environmental Policies Are a Joke

Although the environment is not on voters minds as much as the economy these Bushdays, to many of us at Greenopolis it is also very important. The current Administration has been far to lax to regulate any environmental issues, and hasn't enacted any legislation that will be an overall help to the environment. When Bush first ran for president in 2000 he promised to cap greenhouse gasses, but quickly reversed his opinion by saying that with a cap on emissions US jobs would be sent to places like China and India that don't have such legislation.

The Bush administration was also a deterring factor in designating endangered species, because of the risk it would bring in the climate change argument. If Bush was to allow Polar Bears and other Arctic wildlife be designated as "endangered", then him and his oil company buddies may at some point be in trouble for causing climate change that threatens these animal's habitats. This is the main reason that Bush has stayed away from these designations, a move that has produced outrage among scientists and conservationists alike.

The Bush administration has been undermining the mission of the EPA and the Interior Department to protect public health and the environment, while catering to special interests. By doing virtually nothing while in office, any regulations or
legislation on the environment will most likely be left to the next
president. We must make sure to vote wisely on these issues today, so that the future of tomorrow is preserved and does not cause even more widespread problems such as lack of clean air to breath, extinctions, and loss of habitat.

And yet Palin couldn't talk enough about the environment in her debate.
What a joke! I couldn't agree with you more!
