Cheney Tries To Lie About Greenhouse Gas
Submitted by david d on Wed, 07/09/2008 - 12:45pm.
Whether or not greenhouse gasses are harmful to the environment or if they cause global warming has been a very hot topic for a while now, and the topic is not cooling off any time soon. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has been trying to take further steps towards regulating greenhouse gas emissions, but has been met head on by the Bush and Cheney administration. Now they're in trouble. They've been caught trying to change congressional testimony (sworn testimony mind you), in order to downplay the dangerousness of greenhouse gasses and its effect on global warming. They were trying to head off new regulations of greenhouse gas emissions.
Why would our government officials want to tamper with sworn testimony by experts (in this case the EPA's Head Administrator, Stephen L. Johnson & the head of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) that would ultimately go towards new legislation that will make the country a safer place? I don't care if you're a republican or democrat, this just seems wrong to me.
It is too early to tell whether or not this misconduct was illegal, but it sure seems like it should be! Source: http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/washingtondc/la-na-cheney9-200 8j... (4 votes) »

It's illegal in my book
Changing Congressional testimony? Outrageous. I think treasonous to lie at that level and disrupt our governmental functions. When will something be done?
