I was going though the National Wildlife Federation website today and one animal on the front page caught my eye. The Canadian Lynx (see image below) caught my eye because I don't think I've ever seen a picture of one before! I went on to read about how there's really no way to know how many exist in the US, because of how secretive and stealthly they are. They go on to say that saving and perserving forests is the only way to ensure they do not become extinct.  

When I clicked on a link to the Northern Forest to see where these animals lived I was surprised to see that this amazing forest is in my backyard! After reading over how unique this forest is, I just became more excited for the upcoming summer, and planning my camping exursions. I plan to do everthing in my power to perserve this forest while I am there so that the animals and future generations can enjoy it for years to come.
