The New Honda Hydrogen Car
I thought this car was pretty cool looking, and not to mention it runs on PURE HYDROGEN! The Honda FCX Clarity gets about 270 miles per tank, has ZERO EMISSIONS, can go 100 MPH and will be on the market in the near future in selected markets.
The way this type of fuel cell vehicle is powered is by electricity that is generated onboard by combining hydrogen with oxygen to the fuel cell stack. The Hydrogen Car is powered by an electric motor, with auxiliary regenerated energy that is supplied by a lithium-ion battery pack. This increases the vehicle's efficiency and range. I found it interesting that the design is also capable in very cold weather: "The advanced layout enables a vertical flow of hydrogen and oxygen from the air through a more efficient package; and it allows cold-weather startups in as low a temperature as minus 30 degrees Celsius." Ifind this car pretty cool and with a limited number of FCX Clarity vehicles being released in a few areas as a lease for around $600 per month for three years with maintenance it sounds like this new honda hydrogen car really makes sense!

I think it looks great, finally a car that is eco-friendly and will look good on the road!
They are making some really efficient and cars today, however, with a car like this, the select markets are on the west coast in part of California. When are they going to make these cars available to us on the east coast? I understand you need the special fueling stations so why don't we build them? I am sure heavy traffic areas such as Boston and New York City would benefit from having these types of fueling stations with the amount of people that commute in and out of those places . . .
It's the fueling stations that worry me. I wonder if the gas and oil companies will ever allow the infrastructure needed to support this type of vehicle to exist anywhere near their gas stations.
Makes you wonder what the refill charges will be - no one will buy these cars if it costs more the fuel than a regular gasoline powered car.
well they do have fueling stations in California where they are being released but I wonder what the cost would be to build them here on the east coast . . .
