Two Sets of Triplet Red Pandas Born

PrintPrintE-mailE-mail 1 comments

The other day conservationists in China celebrated the birth of eight endangered Red Pandas. There were two sets of triplets, a pair of twins and two single Red Pandas. Sadly the twins did not survive, but the conservationists were still exuberant at the birth of 8 baby pandas. The cubs were all born at the Fuzhou Panda World Research Center.

Red Panda

Red Pandas live in the Himalayas of Bhutan, in southern China, India, Laos, Nepal, and Burma. They are on the endangered species list with less than 2500 left in the world. These births was a very happy occation as their numbers have been on the decline for the past few years due to habitat fragmentation, climate change, human development and poaching.

These animals are very cute, and hopefully will be around for generations to come so that our childrens' children will be able to enjoy them. We can only hope that this breeding program continues to be such a huge sucess for the Red Pandas of China.
