Go Green with Recycled Bike Products

EcoActionT...

Not only are bicycles the perfect mode of transportation to reduce carbon emissions and your carbon footprint, but they are also becoming one of the hippest items to recycle.

And when we say hip we mean that old bicycles parts are being used to create an amazing array of items, including jewelry and furniture. So that means less waste in our landfills and cooler things for us to reuse.

Ride a New Wave of Bikes

It really is encouraging to see how many things are being recycled today. Instead of being thrown into the trash, almost every part of a product can be reused to create something else.

These items are some of the most creative and original products made from bicycle parts that we found:

bike furniture Bike Furniture Design

This CD rack is made from recycled chain rings and wheel rims, and can hold up to 40 CDs.

bike chain opener Bike Chain Opener

Sprocket Clock

OM Bike Part Coaster

Bicycle Chain Frame

bike tealight Recycled Tea Light Holder

Light up your home with this tea light holder made from recycled bike wheels.

The possibilities really are endless when it comes to reusing bicycle parts.

All you have to do is enjoy the eco-friendly lifespan of your favorite bike, and when it’s time to get a new one, you can recycle it so bike artists can work their magic.

Now that you know what happens to recycled bikes, maybe one day you’ll be wearing or sitting on your old bike again.

Thank you for posting this

my daughter

It is a huge coincidence that this article was posted because I had just pleaded with my husband for us to all go and buy bikes for the family. My husband and I live in New Rochelle but work in Harlem and New York City so of course it would be impossible to ride them to work. However, they are a great eco-friendly way to get exercise, and we can use them to go to the store, around the neighborhood or to the local supermarket. Also that recycled bicycle CD rack looks very interesting, and I'm thinking about purchasing it to put it in the music room in the basement.
