New Way to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint

The Natural Products Expo was a raging success. It gave us the opportunity to view new green creations and show off our own. The newest craze in eco-living? Concentrates!

We’ve finally done it! EcoDiscoveries now has an even
smaller carbon footprint to make a bigger eco-difference. All of our green
cleaners now come in concentrated form. It’s the same great cleaning power in
an easy-to-mix concentrate.

Shipping stinks. We wanted to reduce our use of petroleum
which meant we needed to reduce the weight of our products. Water is pretty
heavy and wastes barrels of fuel being shipped from place to place. Plus, water
is something our eco-friends have at their houses anyway. We took the water out
and guess what?

We reduced our shipping weights by about 93%, which is some
serious fuel savings.

1 gallon of gas emits 20 lbs of CO2 from standard sedan. Just
think of the carbon savings in one of those big trucks, or a plane!

This concentrate thing is super easy too. Fill the bottle
with 30oz of water. That’s about up to the first finger on the grip. Then pour
in the concentrate and swirl the bottle. It’s better to add concentrate to
water than water to concentrate to reduce bubbles. Swirling is better than
shaking as well to reduce bubbles. Any old water will do, but if you are
worried about chlorine or heavy metals in your tap, use filtered water. Haven’t
I been encouraging you all to get a distiller anyway?

The packaging is completely recyclable. The little bottles
have cool reuses too. You can make your own travel size soaps and lotions or
even salad dressing for your organic lunch you packed in a reusable box to bike
to work with. Please just wash the bottle out before you refill and re-purpose it.
Our products are safe, but soap doesn’t taste good or feel good in your eyes.
