DON'T THROW IT AWAY!  Use the other side as a grocery list or a to do list and then when BOTH sides are filled then throw it away, better yet take it to your local recycling center. Never take the lives of trees for grantite.

Compact Flouresent Lights

Flouresent lights are a great way to conserve energy. I use them around in my home and you  should too. They don't use half as much energy as a regular light bulb the curly shape makes it look just as big as a regular light bulb but if you straightened them out then it is alot smaller but is seems even brighter. They also last longer than the regular light. They are a little more expensive than the regular bulbs but for the earth... its worth it. To find out more information subscribe to this group.

Rechargable Batterys

Do you use rechargable batterys? Well if you dont... do! They are great for conserving energy. Rechargable batterys are easy to use and cheap. So another cheap way to go green. If you use them for the first time you will need to also buy a charger that plugs up into the wall and charges your batterys. So... buy them I did.

Recycling

Just recently I bought recycle bins for each room in my home: the bedrooms bathrooms and even the laundry room the bins are labeled Plastic, paper, aluminum, and glass. when the bins get filled I put them in the big bins in my garage labeled the same things when they get filled I take them to my local recycleing unit. You should try it each bin is about $10.00 each and if you dont have the money then make some out of cardboard thats recycling. If you cant put bins in each of your rooms then put them in the rooms that you really think need them.

Sleep mode

So, those of you who have ipods and ihomes and like to listen to music on your way to sleep and have it playing all night. if you do that every night your electric bill will go up $5.00. But there is a sleep mode. What this sleep mode does is it is timed for a certain amount of minutes ( your choice) and after those minutes are up it goes off and by that time you will be asleep. To use the sleep mode you go to settings and then go to clock. Scroll down to sleep timer. set if for however long you want I usually like 90 min.

Planting Trees!

I know it seems hard to find time to plant 2 trees for every one you cut down but if you don't soon we wont have any tree to cut down! If you are building a home and are cutting down alot of trees and don't think you have the time or the patience to plant more then hire a landscaping efficial to do it for you. He'll be happy to help our environment.

Update to Green #2

Today I bought solar lamps to put out in my lawn. During the day they collect energy from the sun using solar panels. At night when they can no longer collect energy they turn on. they aren't that expensive either I bought 6 boxes each box including 2 lamps and it was $5.00 for each box so about $30.00 for 12 solar lamps. Not that bad. I'll never have to turn on my porch light again.

We can make the world a better place.

Turn 'em out

Remember everytime you leave a room to turn the lights out. I know at my house its a hard habit to break to just leave the room and keep the lights on and walk out but a little trying goes a long way. Its also cheap cause it doesnt cost money to flick a switch and it acually gives you money, your electric bill will surely drop.

Update to Green #1

This is My Blog. It is about my ways to save energy and go green. Every time I do something for the environment I will come here and write about it hopefully giving others ideas to do the same. So check often for updates.

Today I put up light colored curtains in my bedrrom so that light can come in and i can still get privacy. If you do this you can do things like clean get on the comuter or something else without turning the lights on and still get the amount of light you need.
