Shockingly, there are only a few companies out there that actually encourage people to buy their products for environmental reasons.  One of the largest mistakes a business can make is to not be conscious of the environment and, more importantly, the people who care about it.

This article that appears in We Heart World discusses the issue and highlights 10 companies who are trying to make a difference by planting a tree with the purchase of their products.  Keep in mind, this is a dirt cheap endeavor, one that makes so much sense, yet is done so little.

If more businesses would follow the lead of IOGEAR, UnButtonedMaternity, Blundstone, and the others listed here, we could get much closer to a solution.  Right now, the issue is with timing.  It isn't that the world is beyond repair, but the damage being done is happening at a faster pace than the repairs itself.

Support these companies with your purchases and support.  Buying an item from them instead of a non eco-friendly competitor is a statement that this is the right thing to do and corporations big and small need to step up to earn you business.
