OK guys, welcome back to the regular, post holiday world! Next year at this time, what will you have done differently in your life to green your home, your community, our planet?

I’ve made the commitment to install a solar hot water system on my house, for both my domestic hot water and my heating system. I heat with wood (that I split and stack myself!) use a biodiesel blend in my boiler for hot water and back up heat, but it still has some fossil fuels mixed in with the biodiesel, so I want to take advantage of the 50% sunlight I get here in New England to heat my water and reduce my fossil fuel use!

I’ll keep you posted on progress as the system goes up and see how many gallons of fuel oil and dollars I save once it’s up and running! If you have experience with solar hot water, please let me know and post your comments here!
