“Going green” is taking over as a movement in attempts to
improve
and save the environment. But what does it really all mean? The term
“green” means the immediate and residual impact our products and
practices have on the environment. Four main concerns are: indoor air
quality, personal and business energy consumption, water usage and
product usage. “Going green is more than recycling,” said Christopher
Milu, certified green consultant. “It is a process of the reeducation
of consumption and waste.” Milu stresses reeducation, mentioning that
people already know they should recycle, but the key is how?
Sustainable
products is a good place to start, meaning the practice of using
material easily replaced without causing harm to the environment. By
following the three guidelines of reducing, reusing and recycling,
sustainable products play a major role in “going green.” Milu
encourages consumers to “think green.” Ask yourself what can you do?
“Going green starts with four questions,” Milu said. “Where does green
start, how is it accomplished, what is the color of green, and how do
you know when you have become green?”
Milu, with the Green Business League, educates and advocates
for
solid environmentalism. “There are hundreds of simple changes any and
every home and business owner can implement to go green economically.
It is not expensive, and it is necessary!” For more info go to
