ZipCars
I was in California this summer on a road trip, and I had my first run in with ZipCars in the very hippie city of San Fransisco. They came in all shapes and colors, and were settled in parking lots that already exsisted all over town, so there is no rebuilding of infrastructure needed in downtown or even rural areas. This phenomonal community communal system is supposed to be cheap and efficient, but I think its just downright cool. Now only if all the cars were electric ones. THAT, my friends would be the icing on a very cool cake. Check it out:
