The Green Braindrain

When everyone is declaring their particular shade of green, I would remember the folks who seemed out of their time, like Buckminister Fuller and the guy who invented solar panels. This is less of a revolution we are seeing today and more of a realization that we should simply pay attention to all those smart people who told us over and over again that we had to pay attention to how we live on the planet. Solar panels and wind turbines are mechanisms we have put together to harness what nature gives us freely.

Incentives and Rebates

Incentives, rebates or other monetary benefits for renewable energy
home upgrades are presently available to home owners in many countries. Governments around the world are
offering incentives to consumers to promote and comply with
recommendations for reducing greenhouse gases emissions. Having taken
an estimated look at the type of solar and/or wind system you are
interested in installing, you can begin researching the types of
incentives you may be eligible for from municipal, provincial/state,
and national programs.

Sending greetings from Canada to all Greenopolis participants on Earth Day 2009.  Environment ministers for G8 met today in Italy, to do further work toward amending the Kyoto Accord, which will officially take place at the world Climate Conference in Copenhagen, December 2009.   The U.S. is participating with long-awaited discussion on key CO2 topics.  This is a pivotal year that is seeing strong initiatives on the part of world government to implement policy and financial backing that sees renewable energies take off.  The rest of the year is bound to be eventful.

Important Article on Renewable Energy

I often like to lead to existing articles online, that don't need to be re-written by me, because they are well written and say something important.  This is one written by lead IPCC author Andrew Weaver, Scientist at the University of Victoria in British Columbia.  It covers important points and concerns about what we need to do to navigate a rapid shift to renewable energies.  I've read similiar articles on COP15's website and related conferences coverage articles, leading into the Climate Change Conference scheduled in Copenhagen this December 2009.  As urgently as the alarm has sounded
