I often like to lead to existing articles online, that don't need to be re-written by me, because they are well written and say something important.  This is one written by lead IPCC author Andrew Weaver, Scientist at the University of Victoria in British Columbia.  It covers important points and concerns about what we need to do to navigate a rapid shift to renewable energies.  I've read similiar articles on COP15's website and related conferences coverage articles, leading into the Climate Change Conference scheduled in Copenhagen this December 2009.  As urgently as the alarm has sounded that we make a swift change to renewable energy infrastructure, that can meet global energy needs, we have some important hurdles to overcome.  Find this important article on The Vancouver Sun's webpage.  The article is titled, "Environmentalists are abandoning science".  These topics are indeed very complex and snap judgements and comments aren't always useful.  I've found it is a topic that requires devoted study to appreciate the importance of what's at hand with climate change and the need to switch to renewable energies globally.  Education and effective writing on this subject is of great value to the public's understanding of the issue at hand.
