Mussel Shells in Compost?

PrintPrintE-mailE-mail 0 comments

Yes folks, I was shocked too. It's actually a good thing to put Mussel Shells into your compost. It is great for increasing mineral content in the soil. Here are some things to remember.

  • Make sure you grind up the shells, they are too hard to put into the compost bin whole.
  • You can also add the shells directly to the soil. This will increase mineral content and make the soil more potent.
