I have seen some blogs about everyones efforts so I thought I would share mine as well.  I have been going green for some time.  I can't give you an exact date but it has been years.

In my house we installed Energy Star windows and doors.  We have energy star appliances.  I use only non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products.  My shower head is a low flow.  By the end of the year the two toilets will be Water Sense recognized.  All light bulbs are CFL's.  At Christmas the lights are LED's.  I use all natural and biodegradable shower gels, shampoos and conditioners.  My make-up is green as well.  I don't use any plastic bags.  All re-usable totes.  We have cut back on eating meat.  I buy organic and cage free!  We don't use paper products at parties that aren't made of recycled materials and that can't be recycled again.  Our toothbrushes are Preserve.  The toilet paper, tissues and what few paper towels we use (proud owners of a puppy) are 100% recycled content!  We will be blowing more insulation into our attic this fall.  It is eco-friendly.  We also compost and recycle.  We generate very little trash that finds its way to the landfill.  I have moved away from teflon coated anything and use glass for cooking.
