It's important that we all work to encourage the development of clean technology towards producing renewable fuels, and diversifying our energy supply chain. When we deploy cleaner, renewable technologies we become more independent when it comes to energy production and less reliant on unstable regions of the world for our energy needs. There great evidence concerning the effectiveness of government programs and incentives concerning the development of renewable energy in the united States. In fact, there is even a phrase called the "boom, bust cycle, referencing wind energy deployment in relation to the availability of the federal production tax credit (PTC). When there's a production tax credit, wind development skyrockets. Unfortunately, the PTC is set to expire at the end of 2008 and we should urge congress to extend it beyond its current sun set. Your post reminded of a website I heard about on National Public Radio called The Point. The Point is a website for organizing group actions. http://www.thepoint.com/.
Do you think it would work in this case? You probably have good resources since you are a Energy & Climate Change Lawyer too.
Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention!
